Senikanji

Supomo is an Indonesian visual artist known for blending calligraphy, typography, and contemporary graphic culture. His project Senikanji (汉子术) explores a hybrid visual language that merges Chinese characters with Southeast Asian artistic sensibilities. Through bold strokes, experimental forms, and playful reinterpretations of汉字, Supomo transforms traditional writing into a modern visual system.

Written by Felix Dass based on interviews with Yulius Iskandar & Supomo. Senikanji is a book that records the story of father and son, Supomo and Yulius Iskandar. The two have a relationship that is not easy to navigate. At the end of the story, they show the world that it is never too late to pursue dreams in the arts.
